All American Pie
by BHolzner | |
There are two reasons why we fight in Iraq. First is to protect their oil. The second is to foil terrorist attempts on American soil. I believe in freedom's ways. I want to keep my slice of the all American pie, today. I remember the somber dusted faces on 911. Shards of glass were falling upon, the ground as snowflakes scorched my skin I found, rising welts of red and black from dead, on the ground. I learned the truth from Al-Qaida tongues. They wanted me to die because I believed in freedom's ways. Because I ate my slice from the all American pie, today. If we decide not to defend the oil, Iran will invade Iraq causing more turmoil. We will become a nation of dry, no more to produce, no more to buy. We will have to walk to work, walk to our schools. All the while, keeping fear in our homes, ready for insurgents to attack adorned with bomb, devices in backpacks. No more freedom's ways, No more slices from the all American pie, today. Yes, there is a price for fighting terrorism. Yes, there is a price for oil. What are you willing to pay for your slice of freedom's ways? For your slice of the all American pie, today? ~ Copyright © 2007 - BHolzner Published: 4/5/07 · Author's Page · Next Poem |
