For the love of life
I fought!

For my wife and children,
I fought!

For my country and yours,
I fought!

For the Corps and the Marines,
I fought!

But draped under what flag
do I sleep?

Is it freedom that provides me warmth?
Or honor,
or glory,
or ignorance?

Now, all that is left is a flag,
for my wife,
for my children,
for my life.
