The Wizard of Us
by JS Schilling

"What's the world commin' too?"

I have a love,
she is sweet,
lips,
brother,
made me sing,
"know what I mean?"

But today,
I have other blood on my hands,
pity,
for him of course,
should have known,
"Power comes from the barrel of a gun."

But that was a different war, kid.

Pity again,
I was once a young boy,
full of "vigor"
(how many people like me
have been born
from,
rape,
love,
war?)

Here is the break down:

WW1,
The Japs were our friends,
helped us fight the Germans.

Post haste we said,
"They are little yellow devils..."

WW2,
the Japs didn't like us for what we said in WW1,
so they sided with the Germans,
and we won,
again.

So,
"So on,
and so forth",

(Korea, What?
a police action)

Vietnam,
now this was a war!
but it was
the begiining of the end.

So I enlisted,
to fight the
"...ist"
Facists
communists
terrorist...

Honestly brother,
when I was a Marine,
we were taught to hate the Russians,
said they would eat us if captured,
now my Russian wife
eats at our table,
she is beautiful,
not a "red"

And then there was
bin Laden
'was our inspiration
hell,
he fought and killed the 'Commies,...

"...what did we care if some little Muslim offshoot
came to power?"

Yeah,
now we know,

Pity "freedom."
all it wants
is legs and arms and souls and for us to procreate.

God?
Hell,
like Elvis once sang,

"[He] looks like an angel.
walks like an angel,
but heaven help me
I didn't see the devil in
[His] eyes..."

Pity freedom,
like an old man who had too much wine,
best to let him be.
Then again,
I have a lover,
so sweet,
"...here are my arms,
here are my feet..."
and she takes them
for her feast.
